On Nostr, you must be a reader. You must have a sense of humor. You must be able to decode memes layered with meaning most people will never catch. You must have thick skin and be willing to stand corrected in public, gracefully. You must sit with ideas that unsettle you instead of running from them. You must be willing to change your mind and let people watch. You must know the difference between a troll and a prophet, because on Nostr the line is razor thin. You must understand that the most important thing said in any thread is usually buried in a reply nobody boosted. You must reckon with the fact that pseudonymity reveals character more than it conceals it. You must recognize that freedom of speech and freedom of reach are two very different things, and here you get both. You must accept that no algorithm is coming to protect your feelings or confirm your priors. You must do your own verification. You must earn your own signal.
