Bestine is the brand I use, same as the Best Test cement! Need to thin the glue out to make it workable -- it's just too thick otherwise. Plus it works great as a surface prep for the glue, or removing it for mistakes.
For the surface prep, any residue-less cleaner works, I know some people prefer rubbing alcohol or acetone. And I may stick to acetone for cleaning since it's much cheaper of a solvent.
I tried Barge cement thinner but that stuff is so noxious :< Bestine is just heptane, but the barge also adds toluene and ethyl acetate. It literally strips its own paint just trying to pour it for use, and it fucked up my cutting mat. It smelled like a sign shop x.x I'm just holding onto the can until the hazmat recycling day so I can drop it off.
