I ought to rewatch it. I saw it when it came out in theaters; my buddies from skrewl were trying to get me to go out with them and watch the Indiana Jones movie out then. I said NO, I already know all about the real Indiana Jones, and I'm never watching another one of those bad anti-Nazi propaganda movies. They were like "... anti-Nazi propaganda . . . ? Aha, what?" as I bailed. I don't know how cheap it was and I was kind of ambushed by its release back then, but I really liked that Rambo (2008) flick. Like you pointed out, the moral of the story was perfect. Also, the old Buddha necklace from a dead CIA gook was replaced.
