ILGA has been tracking this for years...decades even. We used to be #1 - now we are way below the European average for LGBTQ rights.

Compare Canada for the legal side - it's not just opinion, it's the legal protections as well. The UK is lagging behind on self ID, access to trans healthcare and puberty blockers, and a bunch of other things.

Immigration is also an issue, since those fleeing homophobic and transphobic regimes, unlike say Canada don't get welcomed, it's much harder to prove. Marriage also means nothing re; a right to stay.
