Not just nothing, but total doom. The only alternative they see, other than this oppressive and corrupt status quo, is utter mayhem and rivers of blood. They think they will die along with the system.
Just the other day somebody told me, they "fully plan to succumb" in the collapse.
We are cynical and nihilistic about the system-- but we believe in each other, in people, in the potential for building a better future.
They're the other way around.
