there's techniques like infrared reflectography to analyze a painting's underdrawing. this aspect is often used to identify the authenticity of a painting, as copies tend to differ here invisible to the eye.
digital art doesn't have that obviously. nor does it have any of the other aspects used to identify authenticity, such as the paint and materials used of the pattern left by a particular brush.
it's just a flat pixel grid. i wonder for how long we can still attribute specific works to specific artists. can we still do so in 500 years?
