The irony of the "digital gray goo" phenomenon is that it renders every tech startup null and void. There's not a single startup which can't be endlessly replicated…*except* the ones which are intentionally idiosyncratic to a high degree because of a dedicated humanist design ethos. (For example, Ellipsus, which has garnered a cult following in the best sense of the word and is virulently anti-slop.)
