My large black Jansport backpack has lasted me so many years and countless km and it was already used by my brother for at least a year, maybe more, before I got it. I've treated it quite roughly and it still doesn't have any holes. It has enough space for a laptop (or three), but I'd still leave the laptop in a hard shell case
