A lot of the political buzzwords I'd agree with you on, but there are still some leftist/liberal types who aren't woke so the buzzword does still have some meaning there. Especially as woke covers the most repulsive and hostile grouping of them imo.
It's basically just a qualifier/descriptor to the rather vague left/right divide, rather than a "You guys hate this thing so stop thinking and side with me" tribalism thing. At least in theory, in practice it can go either way.
