One of the biggest revelations of my professional life, was the discovery that humanity's entire computational technology stack is a leaning tower made of string and chewing gum.
How it hasn't spectacularly crashed and burned is a testament to the gazillion people who's lives are dedicated to hastily plugging holes with more chewing gum as the string unravels.
