The downstream boot.img stored it in a location close to the kernel. So when I added more configs to the kernel, it decompressed beyond the kernel’s size and overwrote the ramdisk that was in memory

I increased where the ramdisk is stored in memory, and I no longer get the initramfs error

Sucks that it took me this long to figure out. I wish postmarketOS had a forum so that a question can be searchable via a search engine. Matrix search sucks
