I am all to well aware of sanctions on unfavourable states, having experienced them directly. I grew up in a state that was considered unfavourable, and had sanctions imposed on it because it did not suit the narrative of the supposed do gooders.

There will always be Yin and Yang of policy, the only real outcome of any policy is ultimately failure, primarily because there will always be conflicting perceptions of what the final outcomes should be, or even could be.
