New to Duolingo (currently free).
Lemme get this straight. If you make X mistakes in a day , you have to either take additional actions, or wait, to "earn" more "hearts" in order to ... keep taking lessons?
I mean, I *think* I understand the intent ... that you have to show proficiency at a current level in order to progress even slightly beyond it.
But the negative surprise of discovering this on the fly is subtly but significantly user-hostile. The same effect could be achieved in a much less icky way.
