God I love technology. Back in the day custom headers such as these would cost you an arm and a leg because you would require the services of an extremely skilled welder who was also highly intelligent and spent countless hours flow testing things.
Exotic engine swaps were also less common & way more difficult back in the day because getting a proper header on there required custom fabrication which was a lot of time and money unless you could do it yourself. Furthermore adding a turbocharger to a factory naturally aspirated motors was far less common unless you were a full-on race shop.
With the tools available today you can literally 3D print total mock-ups, create your own parts and build literally any motor in existence to have triple the horsepower it came with. You want to put an 800hp turbo K-Series into a Hellcat? (Ofc you do) No problem. How about a Ferrari 360 V12 into an E30 BMW? GOTCHU FAM.
The biggest constraints back in the day were: engine mounts, headers, and transmission adapters. Thanks to 3D printing nearly every one of those problems have been solved and present an extremely cheap option to make your own high quality parts. You designed in 3D print mockups to test fit check spacing etc then you go to work with the real metals.
