do you have any interest in unlicensed frequency use in canada?
back in the late 90s the company i worked for did a bunch of experiments on 900mhz for broadband internet delivery.
i always thought it was a novel experiment. it was kludgy, and super sensitive to noise, but it worked.
what i liked the most about it was that it was a technology *anyone* could use precisely because it didn't require a license.
and then it all kinda died. i think we talked about that a couple of years ago - there were even academic papers written on the subject.
has there been any real movement or development in tech for unlicensed frequencies for long-distance communication in the past 5 years?
