Oh I hear you. Well, he definitely would declare a national emergency (or several of them), as he has already done throughout his terms. Doing so would give him more power, especially with a pushover Congress.

It seems that broadly suspending the writ habeus corpus (a Constitutional right) would be met with stark resistance... the two presidents who did it in the past were backed up with Congressional legislation. Nothing is beyond belief these days, though, unfortunately.
