Writing in The Observer Louise Hellem (the Confederation of British Industry's Chief Economist) targets a number of policies disrupting the labour market, from the Employment Rights Act to the rise in National Insurance, but oddly makes no mention of the 'distortion' caused by in-work benefits.
But (as noted before) as these underpin & subsidise low wage firms' profits, of course that's one bit of labour market intervention/distortion the CBI will say nothing about.
