I like watching the videos of dogs who "speak" using a button-board. The question of whether or not they're speaking I think misses the point; teaching a young child to think and speak is not dissimilar, and even if there's a cognitive upper limit and slow bandwidth, finding the correct pattern output would look the same either way. Dogs aren't LLMs. They're smellms.
