Funny how a lot of the issues in #archaeology that catches the public's attention are seen as completely peripheral in the profession. Take technical questions about how things were made and used. I have written reams about ancient jewellery, weaponry and pottery. But the techniques for making and handling them have never come up much.
Or how the stones for Stonehenge were moved. You would not believe how few archaeologists give a damn. "They moved them somehow, good for them."
