they are - the new guidelines for same sex spaces that came in yesterday is definitely trying to reduce trans and queer rights by segregation - the idea that just by existing in a spce you can get booted out by some complaing white cis het Karen.
People are calling it an apartheid policy, and it's not hyperbole. I have friends who are worried to go into a toilet now....it's not some abstract thing. I am trans non-binary but look cis male so unlikely to get aggro. But others do - and are - including cis women who don't conform to gender.
The whole 'what rights are being attacked?' ignored that the UK has slid down the equality rankings for years, and is now seen as a toxic place.
And they want to take that ostracism of trans folks from spaces further - the lawfare of JK Rowling and co.
I agree Amnesty caved due to legal pressure. But that's Amnesty's job to resist pressure like that....surprised that massive dictatorships didn't get them to cave but a children's book author with a lot of money did?
