I've been thinking about this. Because it's the other way around, right? If they hadn't shrugged at most over ALL of the harm done to vulnerable BIPOC bodies, the institutionalized exploitation wouldn't have reached them.
It's something I think about a lot when I'm wearing my climate organizing hat. We've known for decades about what's gone on in environmental justice communities, and tried to "help". We didn't realize that what happened to "them" eventually happened to "us".
