I think what scares me the most isn't that they make up flimsy excuses that could never hold up in court for ordering the deaths of people — they were already going to do that and soon they'll be using ICE domestically — but that so many military members are willing to obey these illegal orders that they must, by law, refuse.
I realize the complexity of this, but the fact is, no one seems to be putting their foot down on war crimes and it's only going to escalate as it normalizes.
