I'd be interested in others thoughts on this too. I've never bought a pre-installed linux desk or laptop, I've always just set up usb bootstick. I've assumed (perhaps incorrectly) that I'm paying for someone else to do this and would rather avoid that. But the last occasion I bought a shit laptop off amazon, it was a pain in the arse (for a change), getting the keyboard to work with ubuntu. Buying for my 7 year old soon very soon, if you know a good uk deal, lemme know.
