do rechargeable alkaline have a higher voltage? i know that nimh are "1.2v" but they're 1.2V nearly the whole time. alkaline batteries are higher voltage (1.5), so if your charger can handle both (new ones generally can handle all three, nimh, alkaline, and li-ion)
