NIP 47 is a blatant Bitcoin maxi catered feature, clearly sucking up developer time and effort. Time and effort that could instead be spent on ways to make nostr a better place for general content literally the entire rest of the world would be interested in. For example ideas like this that went nowhere: https://github.com/nostr-protocol/nips/issues/522
I'm using Amethyst and it's so easy to find all these niche Bitcoin features all over the app that are integrated into the nostr ecosystem. But it's difficult to find interesting content outside of the Bitcoin maxipad bubble. That is a result of conscious collective decision making to cater nostr features to Bitcoin maxis.
