It's him ascribing intention to women that rubs me the wrong way. "Hoarding" and "sharing" are not neutral words.
Also there's something he glosses over but that's very real for many women: when it comes down to it, we are the ones who are physically responsible for the kids. There are some absent mothers out there but absent fathers outnumber them to a ridiculous degree.
But - I do think the data is really interesting, and I think that many women (people in general, but especially women) are going down a questionable path. Questionable for them and bad for society as a whole.
