This is a really insightful take on Intel’s board firing its CEO.
Intel missed two major waves; mobile and AI. Meanwhile Nvidia went all-in on GPUs for AI in 2013 (over ten years ago).
Intel is now trying to become a foundry that competes with TSMC making chips for others while also making its own chips. Many believe it should spin off the foundry because its company culture will prioritize its own chips.
Gelsinger didn’t want to do that and now he’s out. 🤔
