I'm not quite sure what bothers you about the Pixel displays, but I agree with you that Motorola has a unique opportunity to boost their sales.
If they can deliver a GrapheneOS phone with good battery life, a great camera and a good display I will buy it without much hesitation.
As long as the GrapheneOS devs are happy and are able to build a secure phone, I don't really care who build the device or how the device looks.
If I can wish for three things that the phone should have, it would be:
- replaceable battery
- hardware buttons to disable WiFi, camera, mic, cell modem
- audio jack
