The four day working week is increasingly common in the Netherlands, with the country having the highest rates of part-time working in the OECD (over 50% of women & nearly 20% of men work part-time).

This doesn't seem to have notably wrecked the Dutch economy, and as Sarah O'Connor (FT) notes, its surely not incidental that by allowing more time for parenting, Dutch children are the happiest in the (rich) world.

Time to increase the UK's acceptance of four day working?
