Math.
I remain firmly convinced that the classes are DESIGNED to make kids hate it.
(and this is why we end up with a populace that doesn't know the difference between 'average' and 'mean', and can't make basic sense of important political statistics or climate change numbers....)
Algebra is to math, as spelling and grammar are to storytelling. If nobody tells you what writing is FOR and just commands you to memorize a bunch of arbitrary shit by rote just cause?? I dunno about y'all but my brain just kept trying to dump it as junk information.
....Until physics in college. When I saw motion graphs and things and went OH SO THIS IS WHAT IT DOES WHY DID NOBODY TELL ME SOONER.
But by that point my algebra was so bad I totally bombed my next math test and basically gave up.
