This week I've been mainly reading, no. 247.
Bringing two connected books together, Vernor Vinge's Across Realtime (1984/86) is a great bit of SciFi speculating on how humans would use a technology that allowed them to suspend time for long periods (around themselves) to step (for them) instantaneously into a far future. Its full of interesting conceits & while the technology is under-explained (which is fine) the narrative is highly compelling. A rattling good read
