The irony to me is that I spent more years researching my own condition leading up to that visit than most medical students spend getting their MD. I had been questioning what was "wrong" with me since I was a teen, and had thoroughly researched and eliminated countless conditions, settling on ASD as the one that actually fit. Then, I spent years talking with people from the autistic community online to further confirm that their experiences mirrored my own.
