I have a proposition for an AI that will reach adult human ability in around 18 years, for very minimal costs, maybe $100,000 tops. From there the abilities accelerate, it may take several thousand instances, but that is likely to produce new science, maths, art etc that will more than repay the investment. One in a million will change the world. A few billion? Just guess.
So fund education. It's the most efficient "AI" we have.
