You write in the paper about the observer problem and argue that “[the collapse] demands work. It demands entropy. It demands proof of work”. You further write “collapse is an act of conscious computation; deliberate work performed by a conscious entity. It is a thermodynamic expenditure and requires work to create time”. I find this very beautiful and interesting to think about, especially given what my research focuses on. I was hoping you could elaborate.
I would like to ask you where you think the interaction between entropy and consciousness is. If the collapse of a state is due to entropy and work. Is it our mind-body, and the work and entropic process that stems from it, that produces the collapse, or something else? How would you articulate that interaction?
It seems to me that our bodies function as light‑absorbing dissipative structures whose architecture is tuned for quantum coherence. By aligning particles into low‑entropy, coherent states we extract maximal work from each photon, while the unavoidable waste heat is exported to the environment. In this way we perform our biological agenda with maximal efficiency, and the exported entropy contributes to the inexorable increase of universal entropy. So just like you say that entropy and work causes the collapse. I'm wondering what you think stems from our body that causes the collapse. Is it this? Or do you feel it is something else?
