I don't think that AT Protocol will ever achieve real or meaningful decentralization. It's too incoherent as a protocol with too many moving parts and not enough motivation or impetus for self-hosting or decentralization. It's almost *by design* disincentivized for decentralization. As I explained on Nostr:

Activity Pub, despite its inherent problems on a technical level, is still much simpler at the end of the day. And Nostr, still, is even simpler and easier. Both Nostr and Activity Pub are far, far more decentralized than AT Protocol.
