Finally got around to watching **The Ghost in the Shell** Ep1, and on the whole I'd have to say it's mostly positive. It's very stylish, I like the look and feel of the animation. Compared to previous iterations of GitS (which I mostly all enjoy), this one is very OG manga accurate and I appreciate that it's different in that regard.
Some have accused this of having "ADHD pacing", and I can understand that criticism... everything moves forward at a fairly breakneck pace, with little room to breathe in places. It hasn't been an issue so far, and part of me wonders if this isn't Amazon director's notes to appeal to brain-fried zoomers, but I'm going to wait a few more episodes to see how it goes. Definitely plan to continue it, even if it's mainly because it scratches an itch that I haven't got scratched from any recent anime in quite a while.
