If DOA was the band that defined hardcore punk, Pointed Sticks is the band that defined Canadian pop punk.
But don't let their catchy tunes fool you. Anyone who saw the Dennis Hopper movie Out of the Blue—set in Vancouver—can tell you that Pointed Stick was just as gritty and outrageous as DOA. In many ways, even more so.
Pointed Sticks were also the first Canadian band to find an international following, landing on the celebrated Stiff Records.
