Depends who is listening. Tbh people will always want to craft things and care about their craft. The world with very cheap generated AI code doesn’t change this but it does amplify the noise.
After the printing press can along artists didn’t stop painting but the market did get tons of prints of paintings for people to hang up on their walls. It democratised the art some but didn’t detract from the quality work because they were never in competition. Perhaps the same can be true for software.
