Iran’s Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs said that nearly 3,500 people have been killed in US and Israeli attacks since the outbreak of the war on February 28, Anadolu Agency reported.

The foundation said 3,499 people were killed, including 2,988 men and 511 women, with 1,609 reported as unmarried.

It added that the war escalated after US and Israeli airstrikes on Iran, prompting Iranian retaliation against Israeli and US-linked targets in the region.

A temporary ceasefire was reached on April 8, though no permanent agreement has been signed.
