In the song Slug, Brian Eno manages to exploit U2 to create a disorienting, exciting tune more worthy of the Talking Heads. The trick is to have Bono intone the same short descending melody over and over, with different lyrics, while the instruments in the background slowly expand and change.

It's important that the lyrics don't make too much sense, and while I said "the same short melody", it's crucially important that sometimes one note is different by one semitone, to create a sense of progression. Putting it all together, the effect is quite dreamlike.

It's structurally like a very different song U2 did....
