That's an 'it depends' type of question. I'm in Manchester & have a grape vine. Some years, we even get grapes off it. Not many admittedly, but we do get actual quite nice grapes. If you have a relatively sheltered spot, like a wall that gets any sun, it's worth trying. Mine is in a container just off the ground to avoid ground frosts. If you're on the moors or up high, you might have less success. Even without grapes, it's an attractive plant to have.
