To no-one's real surprise, having denied before the election that she would amend the way public debt was accounted for in the fiscal rules she wishes to uphold, Rachel Reeves is now (the FT reports) looking at ways to shift some forms of debt (those related to quantitative easing, primarily) out of the debt target embedded in the fiscal rules she is adhering to.
All perfectly legitimate & no different to the 8 revisions under Tory Chancellors since 2010.
