The U.S. struck a gas tanker, believing it to be carrying Iranian gas, and killed two crewmembers. The strike also disabled the ship.

The full statement by IRIB reads as follows:

"This afternoon, the U.S. military fired two missiles at an LPG tanker that was approaching the area from the Gulf of Oman. The tanker was struck because it was mistakenly believed to be carrying Iranian gas. The attack resulted in the deaths of two crew members and damage to the engine room, effectively stopping the ship."
