Now gohugoio (npub1c5m…zchq) supports AVIF, I thought I'd see if it's better than WEBP, which I use almost exclusively on my personal site. For some reason, though, an AVIF image is 329kB while a WEBP of the same size is 183kB, so... no, I'll stick with WEBP. I'm probably doing something wrong. But I have tweaked the resize algorithm and the sharpness of the WEBP images now as a result; and 7,480 resized files are making their way up to The Internet as I type this.
