Sometimes we kind of just roll our eyes like "can you really expect a successful white man to have respect for other people?"
Sometimes even those of us who know better do that unconsciously, because making excuses for white men's ignorance & self-centeredness is so normalized. I'm tired of that. I'm tired of "but other than that, he's great." No, he's not.
There is nothing about being a white man that means you can't fucking understand & empathize with other people & their experiences.
