It doesn't do that though either. Taproot is still around, just with a couple almost arbitrary limitations on tapscript which demonstrably don't stop ordinals, runes, or other data pushes. Nor should it, I'd argue, as Schnor signatures were a good addition. Tapscript probably should have at least been deliberated a bit longer -- I'd happily give it all up for CTV.
It does seem to line Kratter's pockets though to make people feel like they're doing something.
