So while it is true that the gender pay gap is slowly reducing, new research (published in the British Journal of Industrial Relations) suggests that the Office of National Statistics has been understating the gap by around 1% due in part to a problem with ONS weighing in their sampling (a familiar issue).
So not only is this one more issue where the ONS data has been found wanting, while not a massive difference the decline gender discriminatory pay has also been slower.
