Speaking as someone who works for Meta, there are two reasons for that. The first is obvious: towns go where most of the people are, and Facebook is still the largest social media platform with billions of users worldwide. The second is perhaps not so obvious but is certainly suspected: we donate to local campaigns. Meta funds not just federal or state elections, but also township-level ones as well. The whole point is to preserve Meta’s (Mark Zuckerberg’s) interests.
