yeah, I think that plays the double role, especially for white cis women, of making themselves inherently the victim and innocent…while they do awful shit to BIPOC and trans people. Like, the number of white cishet women I’ve met who have a shitty man in their life that they enable in a “it can’t be helped” way and claim the eternal role of victim while saying they are feminists just boggles my mind. I’m always like…can you see what you’re doing? Hetero and cis-normativity are a hell of a drug.
And of course, there’s the transfems who engage in this, as you’ve mentioned too. Comes from a slightly different place but does the same thing in the end. Maybe we stop blaming biology for bad actions and blame the people and systems that create and enable those actions? Please friends?
