cell and microwave communications are good for high bandwidth up to 30 miles or more, provided line of sight and high gain (directional) antennas. It is what I am doing offgrid in deep country. Bonus, I can aim the antenna towards another cell tower in another town or city if one ever goes out in a bad storm. If the entire cell network goes down, there's always wifi mesh networking with directional antennas. No need for satellite.
